You have forgotten history. You have forgotten how
hard we fought for our basic rights. This may explain your
belief that we will give up easily, but on this you are wrong.
You have forgotten that WE gave birth and cared for
every child in this country. This is our strength and our weakness.
For we had such high hopes for you, that one day you
would UNDERSTAND the way of things, respect our
bodies, respect our contributions. And now, facing reality, we
mourn our failures and accept that for some of you this
understanding will never come.

While you may turn away from the voices outside your
window, they are still there. These voices were your last chance
to see reason. Now no time is left for learning: the youth are
leading the world and a crone is in the House.

Remember that long-ago underground train, the one that led to
freedom and opportunity? We have built a new train, one that will
leave no sister behind.
It is strong, it is steady, and it is very, very fast.
